How Spieler handles your information.

Spieler is an independent curling rating project founded and operated by an avid curler. This notice describes the current website and profile system.

What Spieler stores now

When you sign in, Spieler stores your email address so you can access your account. A profile can include your name, optional home club, optional broad location, claim state, and the details needed to keep it connected to your sign-in.

Spieler also stores entered game facts, lineups, confirmation or dispute history, rating changes, corrections, and the source of imported or reviewed records.

Why a profile may already exist

A profile may be created by its curler or, during the pilot, from a recorded game, reviewed club or event record, or approved import. This lets shared curling history remain intact before every participant has signed in.

Unclaimed profiles are hidden from anonymous search. Signed-in search can show limited name, club, and broad-location context when needed to find and claim the correct profile.

What is not public

Spieler does not publish sign-in email addresses in profile search. It does not ask one curler to provide another person’s password or account details. Broad club and location details may be shown only to tell people with similar names apart.

Cookies and service providers

Spieler uses necessary authentication cookies to keep signed-in sessions working. Supabase provides authentication and database services, and Vercel hosts the website. Resend delivers Contact form messages to Spieler. Spieler does not sell profile information.

Optional advertising measurement

If you accept optional tracking, Spieler records how you first arrived: campaign labels, a public landing page, the referring website domain, advertising click identifiers, and the time of the visit. A first-party cookie remembers that visit for up to 90 days. After sign-in, this information is connected privately to your Account. A later direct visit does not replace the original source. Spieler can count profile creation and first-game milestones from its existing records without sending them to advertising platforms.

With your permission, Meta measures Facebook and Instagram visits and X measures X visits on public information pages. Their pixels can use cookies, IP addresses, and browser information. They are not loaded on search, sign-in, profile, game, or Contact form screens. Spieler reports profile creation and first-game conversions from its server using advertising click identifiers and random event identifiers. Spieler does not send your name, email, phone, rating, opponents, or game details to these platforms, including hashed versions of your contact information.

You can reject tracking and still use Spieler normally. Use Tracking choices at the bottom of the website to change your choice. Spieler respects a browser Global Privacy Control signal by keeping advertising measurement off. Rejecting tracking stops future reporting; it cannot recall information already received by an advertising platform. Previously recorded attribution remains private in Spieler until removed through a reviewed data request. Tracking is off by default, and test deployments do not send advertising events.

Contact messages

The Contact form sends your name, email, category, and message to nathan@spielerapp.com through Resend. Spieler uses this information to review your request and reply. Contact messages are not published on your profile or used to change games or ratings automatically.

Basic junk checks include a signed form timestamp, message validation, and temporary submission counts. The counts use a hash of your email, not its plain text, and expire after 15 minutes. Do not send passwords, sign-in links, or sensitive personal information.

Corrections, claims, and removal

If a profile appears to be yours, search for it and request a claim instead of creating a duplicate. Claims are reviewed before an existing profile is connected to a sign-in.

Anyone can use the public claim, correction, and removal request form. Spieler stores the contact and request details so a person can review them. A request does not automatically change a profile, remove a game, or rewrite a rating.

Do not include a password, sign-in link, or other sensitive information in a request.

Deleting sign-in access is different from deleting shared sporting facts. A legitimate game involving other curlers may need to remain in the shared record, with personal access and public visibility handled separately.

Current limits

Signed-in curlers with a connected profile can enter a game and ask one claimed opponent to confirm it. Notifications and self-service changes to games that have already affected a rating are not live yet. Spieler will update this notice before new workflows change what information is collected or shown.
